The main economic activity is peasant farming and petty trading mostly engaged in by the women. The community lacks basic social amenities like good road, school, clinic electricity etc. The children travel over 5 kilometers daily to attend school in some nearby communities.
The lack of economic opportunities in the community has compelled especially most of the youth to migrate to Nsawam and Accra to seek for social opportunities. Hence, majority of the population is made up of the aged and children.
The lack of electricity is affecting the standards of education in the area. Students could not engage in effective learning in the evenings as they have to rely on lanterns, flashlights and candles to study. Life in this community almost comes to standstill as soon as sunset
